Working Group of Islamic Economic Society Expert Council discussed the Halal Lifestyle 2016 program in the Breakfast Meeting at Grand Sahid Jaya Hotel (04/02). The meeting also attended by several stakeholders, they are National Sharia Board of Indonesian Ulema Council (DSN-MUI), Assesment Agency of Foods, Medicine and Cosmetics Indonesian Ulema Council (LPPOM MUI), Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI), the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, and Gatra magazine.
The meeting aims to prepare a work plan for Halal Lifestyle 2016 development agenda.
Based on the results of the meeting, the stakeholders agreed to organize Indonesian International Halal Lifestyle comprising Conference, Culture & Expo as part of the Halal Lifestyle 2016 program.
Former Minister of State Enterprises Sugiharto said Indonesia has a chance to become the center of halal industry in the world for other Islamic countries, particularly in the Middle East is facing political instability and security.
One of the initiators of the Indonesian halal tourism, Sapta Nirwandar, assessing, Indonesia halal tourism potential is too big to be left without any development. Indonesia has the capital to become a major player of the world halal tourism, Sapta said, partly because Indonesia has the potential of natural and cultural beautiful, rich, and diverse.
