Takaful Principle in Line with Community Economy of West Sumatra Indonesia

The first seminar of the Takaful Seminar Roadshow 2016 has been successfully held in Padang, West Sumatra on Wednesday, March 16, 2016. The event that was held at the West Sumatra Governor Office Hall was attended by more than 250 people.
Events of education and socialization of Takaful was running smoothly and the enthusiasm of the participants was good. Some of the participants came from islamic microfinance institution and islamic Halaqah (Majelis Taklim).

In addition, the enthusiasm of the participants of non-Muslims were also quite good. They attended seminar because they want to know the ins and outs of takaful (islamic insurance).

West Sumatra Governor Irwan Prayitno act as keynote speaker. On the occasion, he expressed strong support to the development of Islamic insurance in West Sumatra.

This is in line with one of the West Sumatra Provincial Government programs that make up the Regional Financial Access Acceleration Team (TPAKD) as institutions that facilitate the expansion of access to financing.

Irwan convey the importance of financial institutions to support community economy of West Sumatran that predominantly engaged in micro-enterprises (84%) small (14%) and medium (0.8%) (MSMEs). This is because the character of the Minang (West Sumatran) community has its own uniqueness compared to other areas of society.

The day before the seminar, MES West Sumatra Regional Board and a representative of Allianz Insurance in cooperation with local radio, Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) Padang held an interactive discussion on radio about takaful and islamic finance.
